Norma Jean's new album, Meridional has gathered quite a buzz, because the band “wanted to go back to their roots” with the new record.  When a fan hears this, they automatically think that the band is going to go back and write songs in the vein of Bless the Martyr, Kiss the Child, or at least O' God, the Aftermath.  In an interview, band members Jake Shultz and Chris Day clarified that that they were going back to their roots, in the way that they would write their material.  In their earlier days, the band wrote what they wanted, and now they wanted to bring that mentality back.  That doesn't mean that the end result will sound like thei... Arsonists Get All of the Girls (AGATG) has a lot in common with fellow metallers, The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza.  Not only do they both get ridiculed because of their longwinded and outlandish band names but they also both take an unconventional approach to metal; you never know what to expect from either band and in an ever increasingly stale genre. These new directions should be embraced with open arms but unfortunately both of these bands aren't getting the reception that they deserve.  Hopefully with Motherland, AGATG gets some well deserved recognition and the metal community should really take them seriously because this is no longer the joke ban...
