When Wretched released their debut, The Exodus of Autonomy in early 2009, I knew that they were something special.  What other melodic death metal bands have tracks as ambitious as the near-nine minute instrumental track “VI: The Exodus of Autonomy” on their debut album?  No one.  To this date, the band has not received the kind of respect that they deserve, and with their second album Beyond the Gate, Wretched set out to change that.  The band has decided to push themselves even further, and it resulted in an album that is that is both ambitious and brutal.   The track “Birthing Sloth” starts the album off with a b...
